Makeup Revolution 'I Heart Chocolate' Palette.

Makeup Revolution is my go to drugstore brand for affordable eyeshadow palettes, they have the most amazing dupes for all the high end brands (see my Naked 3 dupe Here).

I was so excited when my local Superdrug finally got the 'I Heart Chocolate' palette as it's clearly a dupe for the Too Faced 'Chocolate Bar' palette.  This is from their sister brand 'I Heart Makeup' which seems to be higher end than the original Makeup Revolution and slightly higher in price.

Makeup Revolution 'I Heart Chocolate Palette' - £7.99 Here

In keeping with the name, the palette is in the shape of a chocolate bar and made out of relatively sturdy plastic. A major plus with this palette is the full size mirror inside, usually Makeup Revolution palettes don't come with any mirror - making this perfect for travelling.

Consisting of 16 shadows - 2 highlights, 5 mattes and 9 shimmer shades - this is the perfect palette to take you from day to night.

Like the other Makeup Revolution eyeshadows I have tried the quality is amazing for the price! Their very pigmented, easily blendable and long lasting. The only slight issue I have is that some of the shadows, mainly the shimmer shades can have some fall out - to avoid this I either like to do my eye makeup first before my foundation or I spray my brushes with Urban Decay setting spray before applying the shadow.

Unfortunately I do not own the Too Faced Chocolate bar palette to do a direct comparison but from reading other reviews online I hear the shadow shades are near enough identical!

I have been loving the shades 'thank friday', 'more!', 'you need more' and 'endorphins ready!' to create an everyday, subtle smokey eye. This is by far my favourite of the Makeup Revolution products I have tried - I've used it pretty much everyday since I bought it!

Have you tried the I Heart Chocolate palette? Do you thinks it's a dupe for Too Faced Chocolate bar?

Primark Haul #1.

There is nothing I love more than finding some amazing bargains in Primark. I can spend hours browsing all the different sections and usually end up coming out with way too many bags!!
In the last few years Primark have really upped their game - there is always endless choices which are bang on trend and I can't get enough of it!

Last weekend I popped into my local Primark in Swansea and was was excited to see their summer stock is now in store. I'm not going on holiday until the beginning of June, and I'm currently dieting to try and shift some weight before I go, so am trying to hold off buying clothes for the minute. But I did pick up some accessorise to start my holiday wardrobe.

I am obsessed with sunglasses and feel they can totally change a whole outfit. So for £5 for all three pairs I just couldn't resist.

White Faux Leather Platforms - £14

I could have gone mad in the shoe section, there were so many gorgeous sandals and heels to choose from, but I decided to be sensible and buy one pair that could go with everything. Being only 5ft4 I am obsessed with wearing heals but on holiday who wants to be tottering round in stilettos?!

So when I saw these I thought they would be perfect, the cork platform gives them a good height without being hard to walk in. I love that their white so will go with almost all summer clothes and the cross strap front is super flattering - elongating the legs.

 Colour Block Swimsuit - £13

I know I said I wasn't buying clothes but a swimsuit doesn't count does it?! I fell in love with this colour block swimsuit, it has a black mesh panel around the middle and a cut out back. The neckline on this is just so flattering - especially on us small boobed girls! And the price is just amazing, for £13 I am really impressed with the quality of this. I think I'll definitely be going back for more from the swim wear section.

Have you found any good bargains in Primark recently?!

Gerard Cosmetics Haul.

Hello Glamours!!

Gerard Cosmetics is a brand I have been lusting after for months and after seeing almost every blogger/youtuber and makeup artists rave about their products, I finally placed an order.

Gerard Cosmetics - also known as Whitening Lightening - are an American brand founded by Jennifer Gerard. Their products are not easily available in the UK but can be ordered directly from the brands American site which was what I did.

Firstly, as a brand I just love their ethics and the way the products are created.
"Gerard Cosmetics is a line created for women by women who empower each other and strive to offer products that are luxurious, accessible and endlessly chic".

Another thing about Gerard Cosmetics that I love is that they always have special offers and discounts on their products which makes you feel better about buying lots haha! So here's what I picked up:

BB+ Illumination Facial Creme

The first thing I knew I had to pick up was the BB+ Illumination Facial Creme which is a liquid/cream highlighter. This can be mixed with your moisturiser or foundation to give an all over glow, or can just be applied directly to your cheekbones, brow bone and bridge of the nose.

This comes in a squeezy tube with a pump and is the most gorgeous golden shade which will be perfect for the upcoming spring/summer.

Whitening Lightening Brow Bar To Go in Ebony

I couldn't not order the Brow Bar To Go.
Although I am obsessed with my Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade I do find that some mornings when I'm in a rush I can't be bothered with the faff so thought these powders would be a nice easy solution. Plus Carli Bybel raves about them, so I obviously had to try it!

This comes with two brown shades - a redder tone, a chocolate tone and a setting wax. I've been using the middle shade which is more to the chocolate brown and have been loving it - it makes my brows super defined but still very natural.

Colour Your Smile Lighted Lip Glosses - L-Shimmer of Hope R-Coco Bean

It took me hours to choose which shades to go for in the lighted lip glosses. I eventually decided on 'Shimmer of Hope' as I have seen so many makeup artists use this and it just seemed the perfect nude, and 'Coco Bean' as I've heard it's a pretty good dupe for Lime Crime's Salem.

The formula is a dream - creamy, extremely pigmented, non-sticky and long wearing - I just wish I'd bought a few more!
The packaging is super cute too - a doe foot applicator which lights up and a little mirror on the bottle.

L-1995 R-Berry Smoothie

The lipstick shades weren't so hard to choose. As I am obsessed with those Kylie Jenner lips so '1995' was straight in my basket - the classic 90's brown/pink shade and after seeing numerous swatches of 'Berry Smoothie' I decided on that to which I'm so glad I did.

Again like the lipglosses the formula is gorgeous - long wearing, non-drying and super pigmented.

L-R Shimmer of Hope, Coco Bean, Berry Smoothie, 1995

When I placed my order the site were offering the 'ultimate beauty bundle' which included the BB Creme, brow bar, lip gloss and lipstick for $45, which is an amazing £30.20!!! The lipstick and lipgloss duo was $20 (£13.45) in the sale section of the website and they were offering free shipping!!

I nearly fell off my chair when I got to the checkout and I had all of these goodies for under £44 - what a bargain. So when I'd got such a good deal on the products I expected to have to wait a couple weeks for my order to arrive but it actually was on my doorstep within a week!

So girls if your thinking of ordering from Gerard Cosmetics I could not recommend them enough, I am super impressed and cannot wait to place my next order <3

Have you tried anything from Gerard Cosmetics?

XOXO Sophie

Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation

Hello Glamours!

Clinique is a brand known for its large range of foundations but if I'm honest I've never tried a Clinique foundation and thought wow (I've tried a lot as my Mum used to work for Clinique). But when I tried the new Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation it was love at first use.

Clinique Beyond Perfecting 2 in 1 Foundation - £25

The beyond perfecting is a 2 in 1 formula which is a foundation and concealer in one and comes in 21 shades - I have 07 Cream Chamois.

The USP of this foundation is its doe foot applicator which are usually associated with lipgloss and concealer. This applicator makes appling the product over your face super easy, even and mess free.

The formula of this foundation is pretty thick so there are no worries of it running everywhere! I would say this has a very full coverage and leaves a matte/airbrush finish to the skin. Having dry/combination skin I worried this foundation would cling to and highlight my dry patches but I have had no issues at all with this, I'm just left with a flawless and even completion.

Due to the thick formula of the foundation I find when I apply it to the skin it dries pretty fast so I like to be quick with my blending. Rather than dab the product all over my face and then blend, I like to work on each section of my face at a time so I have chance to blend blend blend before the foundation dries.

When initially applying the foundation it can look quite dark on my face (I tried lighter shades and experienced the same darkness when initially applied but then I felt I looked washed out throughout the day) but after some investigation this issue is addressed on the Clinique website. This is due to the 'rich pigmentation' of the foundation and the advice is to leave it settle after applied. I have since tried this and it 100% works so my top tip is to apply this then wait 5-10 minutes before continuing with your base products.

Overall I am obsessed with this foundation, it leaves my skin looking flawless and airbrushed without looking cakey. I have never been able to achieve coverage like this with just foundation before. So hats off to Clinique to this amazing new release - I'm in love!

What are your thoughts on the beyond perfecting foundation?
