Maybelline Colour Tattoo #65 & #35

Hello Glamours!

I picked these two Maybelline colour tattoo's up from the ASOS sale just before Christmas for an absolute bargain of £2.99 each!! But then I popped them in my makeup drawer and completely forgot about them until last week.

It wasn't until I saw Tanya Burr's drugstore makeup hall that I remembered I actually owned these beauties! So after a rummage I finally pulled them out too try and I am so glad I did!!

I know I'm a little late to the party for these as they have been out for well over a year but I think should definitely be in everyone's makeup bag.

The two colours I picked up were #65 Pink Gold, a dusky rose pink and #35 On and on Bronze, a champagne bronze.

These gel/cream formula eye shadows are an absolute dream to work with - their effortlessly blended and the pigmentation is gorgeous! Every time I use a cream eyeshadow I worry about them creasing but I've not had that trouble at all with these - still perfect by the end of the day!

My favourite way to wear these is either alone and blended all over the lid or I like to used them as a base (think like a Mac paint pot) for a more dramatic look!

I have since picked up the colour Metallic Pomegranate which is a gorgeous berry colour - perfect for these winter months <3

What are your thoughts on the colour tattoos?

Current Obsessions #1

Hello Glamours!

Just a quick post today to share with you my currant lip obsession.  Like the majority of girls at the moment I am obsessed with Kylie Jenner and in particular THAT lip colour!  I was pretty lucky a few months ago and managed to get my hands on both Mac 'Whirl' lip liner and Mac 'Velvet Teddy' lipstick which supposedly is what Kylie herself uses to get that 90's inspired over lined lip.

Anyway the other weekend while rummaging through my lipsticks I came across the first Mac lipstick I ever bought 'Creme d'Nude' - which is a very pale nude with a cremesheen finish (think nude lip queen Kim Kardashian), and I wondered how it would look paired with 'Whirl'.

To really get that 90's look I big time over lined my lips but didn't shade in all my lips instead I applied Creme d'Nude to get that darker lip liner effect which I've always adamantly said I hate. But I actually loved the way my lips turned out and it has soon become my favourite lip combo!

Here's some pictures of me with this lip, I paired it with very bronzed skin and a matte brown smokey eye!

Note: I have really over lined my lips here and used the 'tilt shift' filter to blur around my mouth. Also excuse the expression on my face ha ha.

Chanel Rouge Allure Lipstick #148 Foudroyante

Hello Glamours!

Over the past few weeks this has been my absolute go to lipstick!

Chanel Rouge Allure Intense Long-Wear Lip Colour in 148 Foudroyante - £26

I love Chanel lipsticks. Well let's be honest I love anything Chanel!

I picked this lipstick up a few weeks ago when I was doing some last minute Christmas shopping.  I was instantly drawn to the shade and then when I saw the packaging it was a done deal!

The lipstick comes in a compact but sturdy bullet in Chanels standard black and gold design.  The lipstick has a sort of "push to open" top - you press down the gold top and out pops the lipstick bullet. I just love the Chanel packaging <3

"Rouge Allure offers a radiant and satiny makeup result with optimum hold, in an ultra-smooth, melt away texture".

The shade I have is #148 Foudroyante which is a deep brown/mauve  - think Kylie Jenner but darker.  The colour is just beautiful and I feel it would compliment any skin tone. I used Mac Whirl lip liner to line my lips before applying this which goes perfectly.

The texture of this lipstick is exactly as the description says - ultra-smooth - it applies to the lips literally like silk and feels super creamy/non-drying on the lips. The colour pay off is pretty good too - I like two swipes for a real deepened colour.

Without flash(excuse the dodgy tan):

The only downside of this lipstick I felt was its staying power. I wore this on a shopping trip to Bristol and I needed to re-apply every hour as the colour just seemed to totally disappear off my lips. I'm usually used to wearing matte lipsticks such as Mac's Velvet Teddy and Rimmel Kate Moss #107, which practically stain your lips so I may just not be used to the buttery/creamy wear of a satin lipstick.  To be honest though as I love the colour so much I didn't mind having to keep re-applying.

The Rouge Allure range come in a total of 24 shades and are available from Debenhams or Boots. I will definitely be trying out a couple of their brighter shades as we head into Spring/Summer!

Here's a picture of me wearing the lipstick:

The £4 Naked 3 Dupe

Hello Glamours <3

I hope your all having a lovely start to the New Year!

Today I have for you my first review/dupe find and trust me it's a good 'un you wouldn't want to miss!

Make up Revolution is a makeup brand I hadn't previously tried but since it burst onto the beauty scene in 2014 I've heard nothing but people singing its praises.  So when I received a bundle of their products off my friend for Christmas I couldn't contain my excitement.

Makeup Revolution Redemption Iconic 3 - £4 superdrug or makeuprevolutionstore.com

The minute I opened this palette it instantly reminded me of the Urban Decay Naked 3, with its rose gold tones and shimmery finishes.

So, let's start with the packaging, like most drugstore products the palette is made from a relatively sturdy black plastic with a duel end sponge applicator - nothing special but for £4 who can complain?!  My biggest downfall of the packaging is there's no mirror, but hey ho!

The palette contains twelve shadows of a wide range of colours and texture - a highlight, mattes for the transition shade and darks for the crease.  When I held this nexxt to the Naked 3 palette it is practically identical- so at this point I was feeling pretty impressed.

In the Iconic 3 palette you get 1.3g of each shadow - total 15.6g - compared to the Naked 3 being a total of 14g - bonus!!

**Please excuse my first attempt at swatches I seem to have a problem keeping them in a straight line ha ha!

When I first swatched the Iconic 3 I was very impressed! The colours were almost identical to the Naked 3 and the pigment seemed amazing. They have the same buttery texture of Urban Decay shadows and even the same matte and shimmer finishes.

I applied the Makeup Revolution shadows over the Urban Decay Primer Potion, initially I found they took a bit of building to get a really bold colour payoff rather than having a wash of colour. These were super blendable and easy to apply - not powdery at all and considering how shimmery these are there was no fall out (hallelujah!!!). Bellow is a picture of the Iconic 3 on

Overall, when applied to the eye the Iconic 3 needed more building of the colour than the Naked 3 but for £4 I am so so impressed with this palette I definetly will be trying more of the Makeup Revoloution palettes! I would highly recommend this if you cannot justify forking out £37 for the Naked palettes.

Have you tried the Iconic 3?

NYE Details

Hello Glamours!

Happy New Year to you all!!

Just a quick post today to share the smaller details of my NYE outfit. This year I went to a local wine bar who were having a private party with my best friend and our families. As it was the first year in a long time I've actually gone to a party - I usually just go to the pub - so I wanted something really glamorous to wear, any excuse!
The dress I wore was from the latest Kardashian Kollection, I've never purchased anything from the collection before but I was really impressed the quality and fit. Being quite curvy I found the cut of the dress very flattering.
With the dress being a wine/berry colour I wanted to keep my accessorise to a minimum. I went with my Louboutin heels that I bought myself for my graduation, a gold Michael Kors charm style bracelet, these powder pink and crystal dropper earrings - I am obsessed with this style of earrings at the moment, I thinks it after seeing the amazing Carli Bybel rocking the style so much! And finally the Primark box clutch I previously wrote about.

I ended up being super late as usual so I didn't get a great photo before I left, but this is the only relatively decent one I have!

I hope you all had a wonderful new year!

XOXO Sophie
