Rezy

Hello Lovely's

I am so so sorry it has been so long since my last post, life just seemed to totally take over the last few weeks and unfortunately I just haven't been able to find the time or motivation to get blogging. But that's going to change now! I've missed blogging so so much these past few weeks and now feel ready to throw myself right back into it in time for the festive season.

A couple of weeks ago it was Beaujolais Nouveau day in Swansea which meant a day off work to get super dressed up to go out and celebrate the first wine of the season being released. It's a massive occasion in Swansea but I don't know how widely celebrated accross the UK it is. So here's the outfit I wore along with the makeup look I created on the day!

I was so excited when I received my Mirina Collections 'Vivian' necklace last week that I had to wear it straight away and I had the perfect opportunity when I was going out for a meal on Friday evening.

As the necklace us such a statement I wanted to keep my outfit pretty plain and simple.  These are the only two outfit photo's I managed to quickly snap before I had to run out of the door but I managed to get a few makeup shots and close up's of the stunning necklace.

Mini Drugstore Haul

Last week I popped into town to pick up some new winter boots. The weathers taken a pretty chilly turn the last fews weeks so I felt totally justified in buying winter boots already lol - there will be a post soon on what I picked up. However I couldn't go to town without having a 'quick' look in both Boots and Superdrug, and of course I ended up picking up a few bits.

I've been looking for the Vegas Nay Eylure lash collection for what feels like months and have never been lucky to find them in store, but when I went to Superdrug they actually had the whole collection in stock.  I managed to refrain from buying one of each styles and settled on the Easy Elegance style.

I'd run out of my Maybelline Eye Eraser concealer and have been totally lost without it so had to pick up a new one.  I want to try out some new drugstore concealers so if you have any recommendations I would love to hear them!

I looked for the Collection Contour kit on their stand in the makeup aisle and was gutted when they had none left, but when I went to pay their was a pop up stand full of them by the tills so I had to pick one up.  For only £3.99 its an absolute steal!! What I love most about this little kit is the grey toned contour shade, I usually find most drugstore contour kits have a bronzer rather than contour shade in them. The highlighter I also beautiful and super pigmented - this is definitely worth picking up!

Finally I headed into Primark and ended up getting these two brushes.  I already have one of their stippling brushes and absolutely love it to blend in my concealer under my eyes - it creates a gorgeous airbrush effect.  I've been seeing these brushes with a beauty blender type end everywhere recently and this one in Primark was only £2 so I thought I'd give it a try.  Again I'm going to use this to blend out my concealer!

Have you picked up any gems from the drugstore recently?

Welsh Blogger Event

Last weekend I headed to Cardiff with my friend Laura to attend the Welsh blogger event which was held in the Angel Hotel.  Laura and I worked together and soon discovered our love of all things beauty and have had each other to discuss blogging dilemma's!

The Welsh Blogger Event was organised by Ffion (a south wales blog) and Charlotte (Rose Above the Thorns).  Laura found this event on Twitter and as neither of us had been to a blogger event before we decided to go together.

I had no idea what to wear as I hadn't been to a blogger event before, I didn't want to be too overdressed or look under dressed.  SO after much deliberation I came up with this outfit and makeup look, below.

Top- BooHoo
Jeans - ASOS Ridley Similar
Boots - Zara (Last year) Similar

Face:
Benefit Porefessional
Gerard Cosmetics BB+ Illumination
Makeup Forever HD Foundation #35
MAC Pro Long Wear Concealer #NC20
Illamasqua Translucent Loose Powder
MAC Sharon Osborne Mineralise Skin Finish
Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kits (Fawn/Java and Vanilla/Sand)
Nars Orgasm Blusher

Eyes:
Naked Smokey - Combust, Whiskey, High & Radar
Makeup Studio Loose Pigment in Copper
Maybelline Black Gel Eyeliner
NYC Liquid Liner
Max-Factor False Lash Effect Mascara
Ardell 101 False Lashes
Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade in Dark Brown

Lips:
MAC Stone Lip Liner
MAC Velvet Teddy Lipstick

When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by the lovely girls who organised the event and were giving a glass of Prosecco and some yummy canapes.  We spent the afternoon sipping prosecco, meeting the other bloggers and chatting with companies who had set up stalls.

Beauty Crowd had provided goody bags for us all and Hanne Jenkins, the Cardiff store manager, came and gave us an exciting talk on the company and some of the products we were receiving in our bags.  Here's what I got in my goody bag:

I am in LOVE with the Milani blush, it is the prettiest blusher I have ever used!!

I had such a lovely time at the blogger event and met some lovely blogging gals, I cannot wait for the next get together!

My Cant Live Without Beauty Tool

On my recent holiday to Ibiza, the worst beauty disaster that could happen to me (lol) happened.
I somehow managed to forget to pack my eyelash curler.  I have never done this before, considering I like to pack a few hours before I go, being as makeup obsessed as I am,  I NEVER forget any beauty related item - but this time I did.

I have poker straight and relatively short eyelashes, so the use of a curler is a massive part of my everyday makeup routine, without curling my lashes their isnt much point using mascara. So anyway I didn't notice until the first night that I had left my curler behind and when I did I nearly had a  meltdown, my friend I went with doesn't use a lash curler so hadn't bought one either.

I tried copious amounts of mascara to make them look half decent but they just ended up in a clumpy mess!  Luckily I had taken false lashes with me, so for every night on holiday I had to apply these - which in the heat can be pretty difficult!  But otherwise my eyes literally looked baled.

I knew I loved my eyelash curler before but now I feel completely obsessed with having it on hand all day everyday - I never want to be apart from it again haha!

Currently I am using the Chanel Eyelash curler which I had a few Christmas's ago and was limited addition.  It came with around 6 pads to change and I am now unfortunately  coming to the end of my last one.

Prior to this I used the Shu Umera Lash curler and I will forever return and repurchase this one.  It curls my lashes beautifully and it lightweight and gentle to use.

Lunch @ Mad Hatter's Mumbles

Last Saturday, my Dad and I decided to head out for a bite to eat for lunch.  After a quick run through of all the cafe's in our local village we decided to try the newest of the bunch.  Mad Hatter's Cafe Bistro opened up in Mumbles a few weeks ago and offer's a range of breakfasts, light bites, lunches and cakes, as well as offering hot and cold drinks and house wines - so there is something for everyone!

I love the name of the cafe, I think it makes it stand out next to any other cafe's in the village. However, due to the name 'Mad Hatter' I was dubious that the decor, if reflecting the name, could be gawdy and over the top, but this was not the case at all.  The cafe is light, airy and very spacious - clean white wall's with dainty Alice in Wonderland animations and quotes scattered on the walls.

There was a range of tables to sit at - low coffee table's or dining tables with comfy cream leather chairs - and plenty of space between them so you didn't feel like you were sitting on top of anyone.

I decided to go for the Chicken, Bacon and Mayo rustic baguette with a large tea and my Dad went for BLT rustic baguette with a large americano.  The baguettes were so fresh and stuffed with filling - there is nothing I hate more than no filling haha!  The drinks were piping hot, my large teapot gave me five cups which is perfect for a tea lover like me!!  The owner proudly told us how he had the Mad Hatter logo put on all the teapots and coffee mugs which I think is such a cute and unique touch.

The stand out for me though was how reasonably priced everything was, especially for the quality!  A lady on the next table was enjoying traditional English breakfast which was only £3.25 - I cannot wait to go back to try this!

If your ever in Mumbles I couldn't recommend the Mad Hatter enough!

Did you eat anywhere yummy last weekend? I'd love to hear about it!!
